Discover Kansas Historic Route 66MORE

The Kansas Historic Route 66 website contains information on new additions to the 13.2 miles that stretch across Kansas, events on the road, attractions, and other ways to get more information about the Kansas historic Route 66. The 13.2 miles in Kansas is "the shortest part of the Mother Road, but well worth the trip" as several guest would say. This portion of the Mother Road contains things such as Decades on Wheels, a car museum in Baxter Springs where you can look at the different style of cars throughout the years, Cars on the Route, an old Kan-o-Tex station where tow tater, the inspiration for tow mater, sits in Galena Kansas, a gathering place a little ways down the road from the Kan-o-Tex station where travelers can stop and see Frecs, the muffler man, and a sheriffs car signed by Michael Wallis, and many more attractions along the way.
